Every airline in Nigerian history has promised reliability and delivered disappointment. Fourteen carriers have collapsed since deregulation in 2002. Not one failed because Nigerians stopped wanting to fly. Every failure was an operator failure — governance absent, capital thin, discipline missing when it mattered most.

First Pishon Airlines was founded on a different premise: that Nigerians deserve a carrier built the way a great institution is built — from the inside out. Our board was constituted before our first commercial decision. Our Safety Manager reports independently to the board, not to commercial pressure. Our financial model is built on what we can defend, not what we hope for.

We chose the name First Pishon because a river that flows continuously — giving life, creating value, connecting people — is the only honest metaphor for what we intend to build. Not a startup looking for an exit. An airline built to outlast us all.

Four routes. Two aircraft. Lagos to Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano. Abuja to Port Harcourt. These four corridors carry 68% of Nigerian domestic air traffic. We will serve them with a punctuality standard this market has never seen.

Regional Connectivity

When domestic operations prove our discipline, we open West Africa. Lagos to Accra, Abidjan, Dakar — corridors that matter for business, trade, and the people who have waited too long for a reliable option. All within SAATM's liberalised framework.

At First Pishon, staff ownership is not a benefit. It is a conviction. We believe that an airline governed by people who have something personal at stake in its success will always outperform one that is not. That is not idealism — it is institutional design.

Every First Pishon employee — from the ramp agent to the director of operations — participates in a structured ownership programme from the day they join. The shares vest over time, the rights accumulate with tenure, and the voice grows with contribution. This is how you build a culture that does not need a handbook to care.

Day-One Enrolment

Every permanent employee is enrolled in the Staff Ownership Programme from their first working day. Ownership begins when employment begins.

Progressive Vesting

Share allocations vest progressively over a structured tenure schedule. Long-term commitment is recognised, not just rewarded at exit.

Profit Participation

When First Pishon earns, staff share in that earning. A defined percentage of annual distributable profit is allocated to the Staff Ownership pool before shareholder dividends are declared.

Governance Voice

Staff shareholders have a designated voice in the governance structure. This is not a suggestion box. It is a seat at a table that matters.

Transparent Reporting

FP Core includes a Staff Ownership dashboard — every enrolled employee can see the current value, vesting status, and performance of their ownership position at any time.

The Staff Ownership Programme is governed by a dedicated trust structure, independently administered, with terms set in the founding articles before any staff were engaged. It cannot be revoked by commercial pressure. It is structural, not discretionary.
